HISTORY

Report commissioned by Flinders Shire Council - contained in a Shire of Flinders Heritage Study. The cemetery contains the graves of some of the early white settlers of the district, particularly members of the Cairns family, the first of whom settled in Boneo soon after their arrival in Australia in 1852. The cemetery is on private land and is protected under the Shire of Flinders Planning Scheme and by agreement with the land owners.
