A fallen Banksia tree cleared by locals. The Balnarring Beach Foreshore Committee managed the reserve’s trees and removed the endangering ones, but sometimes a fall was unanticipated.
Within a few years litigation and insurance conditions changed and prevented local folk from helping in such events, the jobs were thereafter were performed by Shire workers of other ‘Emergency Services’.
