ScalesLong narrow cast iron hanging scales with a ring at the top to hang from a wall and a hook at the other end to hang the commodity being weighed. The hook is attached to a spring inside the scales. The front is a brass plate screwed to the scales with the measuring gauge up to 50 lbs. On the plate are the words “CHATILLON’S BALANCE No. 2 NEW YORK PATD JAN. 6. 1891 JAN 26. 1892”

Bottle, baby’sClear glass baby’s bottle which is curved in shape and has tapered openings at both ends. The bottle has an oval shaped transverse section. The base of the bottle is slightly flattened. The top has the words “Lactogen/Table spoons/Ounces” moulded into the glass.

Peg, woodenLong wooden peg, cylindrical in shape with a rounded head and flat top. The bottom section of the peg is divided into 2 sections. The tip or base of the peg is tapered and rounded

Bread boardRound wooden bread board. The rim has been turned and the words “ Want not” have been carved around the edge. The board looks very worn and well used. The board could have been hand made locally.

Box, medicine tabletSmall flat rectangular shaped tin box. Lid has been painted in brown, black and ochre colours with the words “Watkins/Milk/of Magnesia/Tablets. Base of the tin has been additional information printed on it relating to the products. Remnants of the tablets still remain inside the box.

Compact, powderPowder compact, square, gold colour, mother of pearl? Raised engraving has rose pattern with pearl in bud decoration. There is a catch to open the lid, and inside there is a mirror and a square powder puff, with a place for powder.

ScalesHousehold scale. On the circular face is written ”Household Scale/No 46/to weigh 28 Lb. British made” D-28 Lb is indicated by an arm. The scale is spring loaded and has a circular ring on top to hold weighing tray (tray is missing) At the bottom of scale underneath the circular face is a badge with a knotted rope “S” in the middle with an arrow through the centre.
