Balnarring, 1916. Private John Cavanagh, died of war wounds in France.

BadgeCircular shaped badge with a concave shaped tin back and a metal pin. The front of the badge is decorated with the image of four flags - France, Great Britain, Belgium and ? on a white background.

MedalCircular bronze medal embossed on both sides. On the front is a silhouette of a bust of an Australian soldier, surrounded by the words "Honor to the A.I.F." On the back is a scroll with a branch of leaves behind with the words "Gallipoli France Palestine", with the letters EVD above and the words Anzac Day 1918 below.
